Terms of Service
Effective July 21, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of getticket.ng, including the websites, dashboards, ticket checkout, voting campaigns, and check-in tools we provide (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, publishing an event or campaign, buying a ticket, or casting a vote, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who we are
"GetTicket", "we", "us", and "our" refer to getticket.ng, operated by Guru Hub Developers ("the Company"), 74 Etta Agbor Road, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. You can reach us at getticketng@gmail.com.
2. Definitions
- Organizer — an account holder who creates and publishes an Event or a voting Campaign on the Service.
- Attendee / Buyer — anyone who purchases or claims a ticket to an Event.
- Voter — anyone who casts a paid or free vote in a Campaign.
- Event — a ticketed gathering or activity an Organizer publishes on the Service.
- Campaign — a voting or polling contest an Organizer publishes on the Service.
- Content — text, images, logos, flyers, and other material an Organizer or user uploads or submits.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including activity by team members you invite (see Section 12).
4. GetTicket is a facilitator, not the organizer
GetTicket provides the technology that lets Organizers publish Events and Campaigns, sell tickets, run votes, collect payment, and check attendees in. GetTicket does not organize, host, produce, sponsor, or control any Event or Campaign published on the Service, and is not a party to the relationship between an Organizer and an Attendee or Voter.
Organizers are solely responsible for their Events and Campaigns, including: the accuracy of the listing (date, time, venue, pricing, age restrictions), obtaining any permits, licenses, or insurance the law requires, the safety and conduct of the Event itself, honoring the tickets or votes sold, and deciding on and fulfilling any cancellation, postponement, or refund. GetTicket is not liable for an Event that is cancelled, postponed, changed, or that does not meet your expectations, or for the conduct of any Organizer, Attendee, or Voter.
5. Organizer obligations
- Publish accurate, non-misleading information about your Event or Campaign, and keep it updated if details change.
- Only sell tickets or run votes you are legally entitled to sell or run, and comply with all applicable Nigerian laws (including tax, consumer protection, and event-safety rules).
- Honor every valid ticket and vote sold through the Service.
- Set commission and pricing in good faith and not attempt to circumvent GetTicket's fees (e.g. by directing buyers to pay you outside the Service for a listed ticket).
- Keep your payout bank details accurate and up to date — GetTicket is not responsible for a payout sent to bank details you provided incorrectly.
You grant GetTicket a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your Content solely to operate and promote the Service (for example, showing your event flyer on your event page and in shareable links). You retain ownership of your Content and confirm you have the rights to upload it.
6. Buying tickets and voting
When you complete checkout, a ticket or vote is issued to you with a unique QR code. Tickets are checked in once, at the door — a QR code that has already been scanned won't work again. Online payments have a minimum transaction amount of ₦100, a constraint of our payment processor. All ticket sales and paid votes are final once payment is confirmed, except as described in our Refund Policy.
7. Payments and commission
Payments are processed by Paystack, our third-party payment processor. GetTicket does not collect or store your full card or bank credentials — Paystack handles that directly. Online payments currently move by bank transfer only: at checkout you're given a unique account number to pay into, and your ticket or vote is issued once the payment confirms.
GetTicket charges Organizers a commission on paid tickets and paid votes. The applicable rate for a given Event or Campaign is shown in the Organizer dashboard before you publish, and may be a platform default or a rate set specifically for that Event or Campaign. GetTicket absorbs the payment gateway's processing fee out of its commission unless stated otherwise. Organizers may also record cash sales collected at the door directly in their dashboard; cash they collect themselves is not processed or held by GetTicket and is not subject to GetTicket's commission or payout flow.
8. Payouts and withdrawals
Organizers withdraw their available balance to their registered bank account by requesting a withdrawal from the dashboard. We aim to process payout requests immediately. That said, a payout may be delayed or held where we need to verify your identity or bank details, where we suspect fraud or a violation of these Terms, where your receiving bank takes additional time to settle the transfer, or where a technical failure with our payment processor prevents an immediate payout. We'll work to resolve any such delay promptly.
You're responsible for providing accurate bank account details. GetTicket is not liable for a payout that fails or is misdirected because the bank details on file were incorrect or out of date.
9. Refunds and cancellations
See our Refund Policy for how refunds, cancellations, and disputed charges are handled.
10. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Publish a fake, fraudulent, or illegal Event or Campaign, or sell tickets or votes you have no right to sell.
- Use the Service to launder money, evade tax, or move funds for an unrelated purpose.
- Manipulate votes, tickets, or check-in data (e.g. duplicating QR codes, scripting fake votes, or reselling scanned tickets).
- Abuse free events, free votes, or the notification/broadcast systems (e.g. spam, bulk fake accounts).
- Attempt to bypass GetTicket's commission by directing buyers to pay outside the Service for a ticket listed on it.
- Upload Content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you don't have the rights to use.
- Interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
We may suspend or terminate an account, take down an Event or Campaign, withhold a payout pending investigation, and/or report the matter to the relevant authorities where we reasonably believe this section has been violated.
11. Intellectual property
The GetTicket name, logo, and the Service's design, software, and branding are owned by the Company and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our written permission. Organizer and Attendee Content remains the property of the party who uploaded it, subject to the license granted in Section 5.
12. Team accounts and delegated access
An Organizer may invite team members (for example, editors, viewers, or gate staff) to access parts of their dashboard. The Organizer account holder is responsible for who they invite and for the actions those invited users take. GetTicket enforces role boundaries as designed, but an Organizer inviting someone they shouldn't trust is a decision outside our control.
13. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties to operate — including Paystack (payments), Google Firebase (accounts and data storage), Cloudinary (image hosting), and Resend (transactional email). We're not responsible for outages, errors, or losses caused by a failure of a third-party service outside our control, though we'll work to minimize disruption and communicate where we can.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy of any Event, Campaign, or Content published by an Organizer.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetTicket and the Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the total commission and fees you paid to GetTicket in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or ₦50,000, whichever is greater.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold GetTicket, the Company, and our officers and staff harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Event or Campaign, your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms, poses a risk to other users, or exposes us to legal liability. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 14, 15, and 16) will continue to apply.
18. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at getticketng@gmail.com. If it can't be resolved informally, the courts of Cross River State, Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction.
